TED talk: Ben Goldacre on publication bias
Publication bias refers to a problem in the qualities that are likely to lead to the publication of a scientific study. Positive results are more likely to be published than negative results and one positive result can be jumped upon as though gospel. Even in the face of more numerous negatives, a single positive can make national news – and often does. Ben Goldacre communicates this important issue calmly and clearly in this short TED talk.
